Korea’s National Vocational Training Card System (내일배움카드) and Singapore’s SkillsFuture are similar initiatives that promote lifelong learning and skill development for its citizens. With the National Vocational Training Card, workers and job seekers can get up to 3 million KRW in educational support, which they can use to enrol in a variety of courses like IT, foreign languages, and certifications. Applications are made through HRD-Net, and the card can be used in government-approved vocational training institutions.
SkillsFuture provides an initial credit of 500 SGD to Singaporean nationals aged 25 and older, with additional financial support accessible through various learning programmes and awards. Programmes such as the SkillsFuture Study Awards and SkillsFuture Fellowships encourage advanced skill development and hands-on experience. The initiative is overseen by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), and applications are accepted through a variety of learning sites.
