How to claim UTAP funding?
FOLLOW THESE 4 STEPS:
STEP 1: Register for UTAP eligible course
- Register for any of our Regular Group Beginners 1 Term 1 (B1T1) courses on our courses page and make a $100 downpayment to secure your seat in your preferred class.
*You don’t need to be an NTUC member at the point of registering for our courses. Simply ensure that you obtain an NTUC membership before class commencement in January
STEP 2: Become an NTUC Member
- Apply for NTUC membership right before your course start date (you need to maintain membership for the duration of the course and at the point of making your claims).
- Membership approval is immediate if you sign up via “MyNTUC” App (Download here). In the app, go to “My Profile” > “Apply for Memberships”.
- NTUC Membership fees are $9/month. Please check NTUC website for fee updates. Students registering for January 2025 Intake classes may apply for membership just before course start date.
STEP 3: Commence your course
- Pay the balance school fees on the first day of class and commence your course.
- You must maintain at least 75% attendance and sit for the end of term test.
STEP 4: Submit your claims at the end of course
- Email contact@sejong.com.sg after completing your course to request for “Statement of Attendance.” We’ll provide the document within 7 working days.
- Login to your Singpass and submit UTAP claim with the documents within 6 months from course completion date.
- Claim amount will be paid to you directly from UTAP.

UTAP Terms & Conditions
- Regular NTUC members can claim up to $250 per calendar year, while members aged 40 and above can claim up to $500 per year, capped at 50% of the course fee.
- NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must commence the course or complete the assessment within UTAP approved period.
- NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must submit either certificate of completion of training and assessment or training attendance sheets showing at least 75% attendance for the course(s) and sit for all prescribed examination(s) if any.
- NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must submit claims via UTAP system within 6 months after course/ assessment completion.
- NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must not claim any other funding through company sponsorship or other types of funding.
- NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must have paid-up NTUC membership before course/ assessment commencement, throughout the entire course/ assessment duration and at the point of claim.
- These guidelines may be changed at any time, kindly check the UTAP website for the latest guidelines
Additional Terms:
- Students and enquirers will be responsible for the application and approval process. SEJONG does not guarantee eligibility or success of students’ applications for funding.
- UTAP guidelines, trainee eligibility, application terms and approval terms are solely determined by NTUC, kindly approach NTUC directly for all UTAP application, status and funding disbursement related enquiries.
- Kindly email us at contact@sejong.com.sg to inform us of your intent to make a UTAP funding claim. We will provide you with the “Statement of Attendance” which shows your attendance rate and test completion and results required for the claim.
- Please take note that SEJONG’s listed course fee amount on UTAP is currently $388.80 (which was our course fee of $360 + 8% GST) as we applied for the UTAP programme in 2023 before the GST hike. SEJONG will lodge a request to change the listed amount to $392.40 (our course fee of $360 + the current GST rate of 9%), subject to the approval of UTAP. For now, kindly take notice that the listed amount on UTAP is $388.80 for relevant courses, and the maximum 50% course fee eligible for funding will be in relation to this amount until further notice.
